More than $184 million in state & county funding has been allocated for transportation improvements from 2000-2005. Massive streetscape improvements are planned for North Lindbergh Blvd. from Interstate 270 to Charbonier Road. The 3-mile stretch will feature new lighting, sidewalk improvements and greenery. Similar improvements are planned for areas surrounding the University of Missouri-St. Louis and along St. Charles Rock Road.

The expansion at University of Missouri-St. Louis constitutes the 4th largest construction site in the metro area. The University has added a new Millennium Student Center and has just completed its spectacular, new Performing Arts Center. The arts center will allow the university to host Broadway-caliber performances. Access into the campus is also being improved dramatically.
St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley is undergoing expansion through the creation of the Advanced Manufacturing Center for technology training. This $4 million dollar center will offer degree programs in plastics engineering, advanced manufacturing technology, drafting and design as well as other technical-related fields. Recognizing that St. Louis is on its way to becoming the plant bio-tech capital of the country, the Community College also provides a two-year program in bio-technology.

Improvements include expansion of the hospital's primary care physician base, the relocation of behavioral health care to the northeast campus and turning the Northwest campus into a high-end outpatient facility and a "healthy lifestyle" retail center.

SSM DePaul Health Center is the fastest growing hospital in the area with plans to expand its senior living community to help meet the increasing demand for independent living and nursing care for the area's elderly.
