A Message from NCI President/CEO, Rebecca Zoll
Rebecca Zoll |
Our NCI Salutes 30 Leaders in their Thirties recognition reception is quickly approaching, so now is the time to show your support of our community's amazing young leaders! Please sign up today for a sponsorship package or purchase an advertisement for your company in this year's event program book. We had more than 46 very talented individuals nominated this year and our judges are busy finalizing their choices for this year's winners. Those chosen will be announced soon on NCI's website, in the North County Suburban Journal and on Gateway Television News Network. They will also be recognized on September 23rd at 11:30 a.m. at a reception and luncheon at Norwood Hills Country Club. Information about event tickets, sponsorship packages, and ad space in our event program book is now available at www.NorthStLouisCounty.com, or by calling (314) 895-6241.
We encourage our legislators in September’s special session to please support legislation that will advance the Aerotropolis and China Hub Initiative, while protecting tax credits, such as the circuit breaker program, which helps the poorest of the poor seniors in our community, as well as strongly protecting tax credits that benefit small business owners.
Have you found us on Facebook yet? Be sure to look for North County Incorporated, Regional Development Association and North County Incorporated Attractions on Facebook. Consider “liking” us and share information about us with your friends.
A BIG CONGRATS to NCI Board member Mayor Matt Robinson and the City of Hazelwood on the very exciting news that Emerald Automotive, a British company, plans to build hybrid electric vans at a $175 million plant in Hazelwood. The lightweight hybrid electric vans will use diesel motors to recharge, and can travel up to 475 miles on one charge. Strong demand overseas for this product will mean that the first of the vans will be exported.
The company plans to hire 300 people by 2013 and 581 during 2014. Hundreds of other jobs could also spring up from among suppliers around the plant and lead to 1,000 new jobs in the area. Our area was chosen because of our trained workforce and our central location along shipping routes. This type of company locating in our community may also help increase efforts to create an international trade hub at Lambert St. Louis International Airport.
Compliments to the City of Hazelwood Council and staff who have worked so hard, along with the St. Louis RCGA for months now to bring these jobs and this exciting new product to North St. Louis County! For more information Click HERE and HERE.
Congrats to NCI member the Community News on their new format and for the expansion of coverage and service areas in the North County area. Want to know more? Click Here
