A
message from NCI President/CEO, Rebecca Zoll
I
hope that each of you had a very happy Thanksgiving
holiday as you reflected back on all your accomplishments
in 2009. North County Incorporated certainly had
a busy year and we hope that your successes, like
ours, were ones to celebrate. Like us, you are probably
busy working on your goals for next year, so I encourage
you to consider looking at ways to partner with
others and collaborate on projects in 2010. NCI
will be doing the same, as we have found that our
strength lies in our many active members and working
with them on events, projects and initiatives that
are for the greater good of North St. Louis County.
NCI congratulates St. Louis County and the St.
Louis County Economic Council on their extensive
and successful efforts in the retention of the National
Archives and Records Administration's (NARA)
National Personnel Records Center, which will be
built in St. Louis County, thus retaining nearly
800 jobs. The $100-million new high-performance
474,690-square-foot facility will be built on 23.5
acres of land at 1829 Dunn Road. We appreciated
the opportunity to support SLCEC in their efforts
and for their communication with NCI during this
effort. Click
here for more details.
If you are interested in the future of transportation
in North County, I would personally like to invite
you to attend a planning session with the Missouri
Department of Transportation (MoDOT) on December
9th at 9:30 a.m. at the North County Incorporated
office. We will focus on helping MoDOT develop a
scope of work for operational improvements along
the northern section of the I-270 Corridor. This
is being prepared as part of the planning for the
replacement of three bridges; the work on the first
bridge is scheduled to begin in 2013. Also, NCI
will host an open house with
Metro on "Moving Transit Forward" on December 17th
from 5-7 p.m. at UMSL's JC Penney Auditorium, located
at #1 University Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63121. "Moving
Transit Forward" is Metro's long-range plan for
building a transit system that better serves the
current and future needs of the region.
The work that we do is possible because of you,
our generous members. I, along with the North County
Incorporated Board of Directors, appreciate your
support in 2009 and we look forward to your involvement
and support again in 2010. Thank you for helping
make NCI's 32nd year a successful one. A
list of our major 2009 accomplishments will be posted
next Wednesday at www.NorthStLouisCounty.com.
May your holiday season be filled with family,
friends and joyous memories and may 2010 bring you
success and happiness!
