Hello and Happy New Year! As we start 2010, North
County Incorporated, Regional Development Association
is excited to welcome Kim Bakker of SSM DePaul
Health Center as the new Chairwoman of our Board
of Directors. Kim has been on the NCI Board of Directors
since 2007 and served in various roles on our Executive
Board in 2008 and 2009. Kim will be taking over
the role of Chairwoman from Lillie Dumas
of Commerce Bank, who did a fantastic job as Chair
of the Board in 2009. NCI would like to sincerely
thank Lillie for all of her hard work and dedication
in 2009; her leadership helped ensure a successful
and active 2009, filled with many exciting accomplishments.
In addition to a new Chairwoman, NCI is also pleased
to announce that four new members will join our
Board of Directors in 2010. Please join us in
welcoming the newest Board members: Dan Boyle, The
Boyle Law Firm, LLC; Kim Braddy, Maryland Heights
Chamber of Commerce; Andrea Jackson Jennings, St.
Louis County; and Anita Martinez, ManorCare Health
Services.

Your Calendars! NCI is already busy gearing up for
our annual events this year, and we are happy to
announce that dates have been set for the 2010 North
County Legislative Reception and our 33rd Annual
Breakfast. NCI will once again partner with the
Greater North County Chamber of Commerce, the Maryland
Heights Chamber of Commerce, the North County Chamber
of Commerce, and the Northwest Chamber of Commerce
to present the 2010 Legislative Reception for
North County. This event is scheduled for Thursday,
February 18, 2010 from 6-7:30 p.m. at SSM DePaul
Health Center. Reservations are required and you
must be a member of NCI or one of our North County
area Chambers of Commerce to attend. Space is limited.

NCI's 33rd Annual Breakfast will be held

Operation Graduation committee will host a Trivia
Night on January 29th at 7 p.m. at Overland
Wild Acres Gymnasium, located at the corner of Ashby
Road and Midland Blvd. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and
the cost is $15 per person or $120 for a table of
eight. All proceeds will benefit the Ritenour High
School class of 2010 to help provide them with an

Midwest China Hub delegation
|
The Midwest-China Hub Commission for recently
being honored by the Chinese Ambassador to the United
States, Zhou Wenzhong, in an effort to demonstrate
China's continued commitment to the development of
a St. Louis commercial air cargo hub. The Midwest-China
Hub Commission has been actively working with government
leaders and the Chinese to generate interest in and
eventually create a Midwest-China air cargo hub. CLICK

Normandy School District board
members, administrators, community members,
parents and students break ground for the construction
of the district’s new elementary school.
|
Normandy School District for the recent groundbreaking
of their new elementary school. A groundbreaking ceremony
was held on December 10th at the intersection of Jennings
Station Rd. and Vetterer Ave., which will be the site
for Normandy's new 65,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art
facility. Construction for the new school, which will
house students in kindergarten through sixth grade,
is expected to be complete in the fall of 2010. CLICK

Pattonville School District teachers Tammarra Lewis,
Julie Linck, Kelli Risse and Ben Schamber for
their recent awards and accomplishments. Ms. Lewis
recently received the "Apple for the Teacher" Award
from the Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc.. Ms. Linck,
Ms. Risse and Mr. Schamber are among a select group
of educators nationwide who earned the National Board
Certification this year - the highest professional

Ritenour High School
for receiving the Career and Technical Educators
Ingenuity Award through the Northwest Chamber of
Commerce. Ritenour High School was awarded a $500
grant from the Northwest Chamber to fund an activity-based
project to help students obtain needed career skills
and prepare them for the workforce of the future.

Ritenour School District student Tapley Rasch
for recently being given "Citizen Recognition" by
the Overland Police Department for helping to save
a three-year-old girl in November. Rasch noticed the
young child walking alone alongside Woodson Road and
then saw her walk onto the street and into traffic.
He quickly realized that she was in danger and went
into the street to lead the girl to safety, then took
her to a nearby business and asked them to call the

Christian Hospital employees recently donated
hundreds of toys to the U.S. Marine's "Toys for Tots"
program. Hospital employees, volunteers, physicians
and their office staff donated toys by placing them
in collection boxes. The "Toys for Tots" program is
to deliver, through a new toy for the holidays, a
message of hope to less fortunate young people. For

Adnan Siddiqui, MD
|
The Christian Hospital Wound Care Center has
named Adnan Siddiqui, MD, as its new medical director.
Dr. Siddiqui has been on the Christian Hospital medical
staff for three years and will continue as the medical
director of Infection Prevention while also serving
as the director for the Wound Care Center. The Christian
Hospital Wound Care Center was recently honored with
the Center of Distinction Award from Diversified Clinical
Services, Inc. (DCS), the world's largest wound care
management company with more than 300 hospital clients.

The City of Florissant
announced that it will receive $6.6. million in
federal grant money to be used for public infrastructure
projects. The following projects have been approved
for the City of Florissant in 2010: Phase II of the
Lindbergh Blvd./North Highway 67 Corridor Enhancement
Project; Phase I of the Greenway Chase Drive Bridge
Replacement Project; the MoDOT Sidewalk Installation
Project along Halls Ferry Elementary School; MoDOT
Safe Routes to Schools Project for Halls Ferry Elementary
Schools; and Phase II of the Greenway Chase Drive
Bridge/Road Improvement Project. For more information

looking for host families who are willing to open
their homes and hearts to an international student
for five months until May 2010. Host families will
provide the student with adequate room and board (with
the help of a monthly stipend), help the student stay
focused on his/her studies and program goals while
in the U.S., and assist the student in adapting to
