Christian Hospital
 Christian Hospital’s EMS played an active role providing relief in Joplin after the devastation to that area from the recent tornado activity.  The City of Hazelwood’s Fire Chief Jim Matthies has announced his retirement. He is leaving behind an impressive legacy of many firsts that have elevated the department’s ranking as one of the best in St. Louis County. For details, please CLICK HERE
The City of Jennings recently dedicated a monument in Koeneman Park to Jennings police officers who have been killed in the line of duty. The monument features the names, birthdates and dates of death (“end of watch”) of the officers followed by quotes giving them honor.
Community News is in the process of reconfiguring two papers into a St. Charles County Community News and a St. Louis County Community News.  The refocused St. Louis County Community News will be devoted exclusively to covering news from North County.  Refocusing Community News exclusively for North County, brings Community News back to its roots. Indeed, the tag line on the masthead will be “The Original North County Weekly”.  Hard copy distribution will increase around the area with the addition of newsstands in Bellefontaine Neighbors, Ferguson, Overland, St Ann, St. John. Lutheran High School North has chosen Timothy Brackman as their new principal. Brackman has been with Lutheran North for 15 years. He was the registrar, business and computer teacher and longtime varsity soccer coach.
Pattonville SD
 Pattonville School District is participating in a state-wide effort to raise funds for the Joplin Schools Tornado Relief Fund. Pattonville is collecting cash or check donations to send in one lump sum to the Joplin Schools via PattCare. Donations should be sent to Pattonville Community Relations, 11097 St. Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO 63074. Donations may also be made online at the district’s website, www.psdr3.org.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has awarded $19,175 to the Greenway Network, Inc. to develop a watershed management plan for the Watkins Creek sub-watershed in northeastern St. Louis County. University of Missouri – St. Louis renamed their Computer Center Building to Express Scripts Hall to recognize the UMSL-Express Scripts collaboration, one of the largest business-university relationships in the country. “We are honored that the university has recognized our partnership,” George Paz, chairman, president and chief executive office of Express Scripts said. “We have always been proud of our association with this outstanding institution with which we have a commitment to the region’s progress and growth.”
