 The
Northwest Chamber of Commerce's Annual Meeting,
Installation and Awards Ceremony was held
on January 14, 2010 at Harrah's Hotel & Casino.
The Annual Meeting is held to look back and
reflect on the past year and to recognize
and thank outstanding individuals, businesses
and business owners for their contributions
to the Chamber.
The Northwest Chamber presented awards to
those who made significant contributions this
past year in helping the Chamber succeed.
The following were people and businesses who
were presented with awards: 2009 Business
Person of the Year - Mike Stein with ALRO
Heating and Cooling; 2009 "Bette O'Keefe"
Volunteer of the Year - Carolyne Simpson with
St. John's Bank & Trust; 2009 Business of
the Year - Bommarito Honda, Nissan & Volkswagen
of Hazelwood; 2009 Small Business of the Year
- Universal Business Supply; 2009 Community
Development Award - North County Incorporated;
and 2008 Rookie of the Year - Bill Thompson
with Centimark Corporation. Thank you and
congratulations to the 2009 award winners.
In addition, the Northwest Chamber also
presented Board of Directors Service Awards
to outgoing Board of Directors as our way
of thanking them for their service and numerous
contributions made during their tenure on
the Board of Directors. Four outstanding individuals
were presented with Board of Directors Serviced
Awards. They were: Larry Marrs with Harrah's
Hotel & Casino; Bonnie Felton with Hampton
Inn Northwest; Ted Ruzicka with Ruzicka Group;
and Eileen McGeoghegan with the City of St.
Ann. Thank you and Congratulations!

2009 Volunteer of the Year
The 2009 "Bette O'Keefe" Volunteer of the
Year was presented to Carolyne Simpson with
St John's Bank and Trust. The Volunteer of
the Year award is given in recognition to
the contribution of time, effort and resources
that have been given to the Chamber throughout
the year. The recipient of this award played
a critically important role in the overall
success of the Chamber. Congratulations to
Carolyne Simpson with St. John's Bank for
being chosen as the Northwest Chamber of Commerce's
2009 "Bette O'Keefe" Volunteer of the Year

2009 Business of the Year
The 2009 Business of the year was presented
to Bommarito Honda, Nissan, and Volkswagen
of Hazelwood. The 2009 Business of the Year
Award is presented to a business that provided
contributions of employee time, effort and
substantial financial support to the Chamber,
as well as significant dedication to improving
and growing the community as a whole. This
award recognizes that corporate support plays
a critical role in the long-term success of
our Chamber and the community. Congratulations
to Bommarito Honday, Nissan, & Volkswagen
of Hazelwood for being chosen as the Northwest
Chamber of Commerce's 2009 Business of the
Year.

2009 Small Business of the Year
The 2009 Small Business of the year was
presented to Universal Business Supply. The
2009 Small Business of the Year Award is presented
to a smaller-sized business that provided
contributions of employee time, effort and
substantial support to the Chamber, as well
as significant dedication to improving and
growing the community as a whole. Congratulations
to Universal Business Supply for being chosen
as the Northwest Chamber of Commerce's 2009
Small Business of the Year.

2009 Community Development Award
The 2009 Community Development Award was
presented to the North County Incorporated.
The Community Development Award is given to
an organization to recognize them for their
efforts and contributions toward advancing
and improving our service area through community
development efforts. Congratulations to the
North County Incorporated for being chosen
for the Northwest Chamber of Commerce's 2009
Community Development Award.
2009 Rookie of the Year

The 2009 Rookie of the year was presented
to Bill Thompson with CentiMark Corporation.
The "Rookie of the Year" award is given to
a new member of the chamber. It recognizes
them for jumping in with both feet and contributing
in their first year. They are a a shining
example of how to come in and contribute right
away. Congratulations to Bill Thompson with
CentiMark Corporation for being chosen as
the Northwest Chamber of Commerce's 2009 Rookie
of the Year.
2009 Business Person of the Year
The 2009 Business Person of the Year was
presented to Mike Stein with ALRO Heating
& Cooling. The Business Person of the Year
award is presented to a Chamber member for
outstanding contributions to the Chamber and
exemplary business citizenship. They serve
as a role model for leadership, dedication
and conscientiousness. The individual chosen
is a credit to his organization, community
and our Chamber. Congratulations to Mike Stien
with ALRO Heating & Cooling for being chosen
as the Northwest Chamber of Commerce's 2009
Business Person of the Year .
