As part of our 30th Anniversary Celebration,
this past week more than 500 business, civic
and community leaders attended the 30th Annual
Breakfast for North County Inc. NCI recognized
several area leaders for their volunteerism,
dedication to North County, commitment to
NCI and the enormous impact they are making
in our community.
Congratulations to the following award recipients:
Legacy Award: Lowell Girardier, Girardier
Building and Realty, The Florissant Rotary
Club, and The Florissant Valley Chamber, under
the leadership of Diana Weidinger
Elmer Belsha Leadership Award: Ann
Brand, St. Louis Community College at Florissant
Valley
Business Development Award: NorthPark
Partners (Clayco and McEagle), and The City
of Hazelwood, under the leadership of Mayor
T.R. Carr, Ph.D.
Community Development Award: Kim Bakker,
SSM DePaul Health Center, Carolyn Marty, North

We also marked our 30th Anniversary by reflecting
on NCI's commitment to North County over the
past 30 years. NCI president, Dr. Mark Tranel
addressed guests saying, "Our work is not
complete. We gather together today to celebrate
but let us also use this opportunity to rededicate
ourselves to that mission of being the strong
unified voice for North St. Louis County."
